Call for Abstracts – Inaugural Issue (Volume 1, Issue 1)
The National Journal of Medical Education (NJME) warmly invites high-quality abstracts for consideration in our inaugural issue, launching in 2026. As a new peer‑reviewed journal dedicated to advancing medical and health professions education in India and globally, we aim to publish rigorous, innovative, and impactful scholarship that informs teaching, learning, policy, and practice.
Scope and Topics
We welcome original contributions across the continuum of medical education, including but not limited to:
- Undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education
- Curriculum design, innovation, and reform (e.g., competency-based medical education, NMC guidelines)
- Teaching and learning strategies (e.g., active learning, simulation, e-learning, flipped classrooms)
- Assessment and evaluation methods
- Faculty development and mentorship
- Equity, diversity, inclusion, and social accountability in medical training
- Technology integration and artificial intelligence in education
- Student well-being, resilience, and professional identity formation
- Challenges and opportunities in Indian and low-resource settings
Article Types Considered (via abstract submission)
- Original research (quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods)
- Systematic reviews / scoping reviews
- Innovations / short reports
- Perspectives / commentaries
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Structured abstract with headings: Background, Aim/Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions
- Maximum 300 words (excluding title and keywords)
- 4–6 keywords (MeSH terms preferred where applicable)
- Indicate proposed article type and thematic focus
- Original, unpublished work only
- Language: Clear academic English
Key Dates (2026 Timeline – Adjustable)
- Abstract submission opens: Immediately
- Priority deadline: February 28, 2026
- Notification of acceptance: Within 4 weeks
- Full manuscript deadline: March 31, 2026
- Target publication: Mid 2026 (online-first)

Review and Next Steps
All abstracts undergo editorial screening. Selected abstracts will be invited for full manuscript submission followed by double-blind peer review.
